New crackdowns

Malaysian police are increasing crackdowns on sex workers, especially foreign sex workers (hailing mostly from China).

They are taking the moral high-ground saying that sex workers 'threaten family values' in Malaysia...

Now, from living and working all over Asia for almost a decade now; I actually think that organizaed prostitution 'supports' the Asian family in most cultures... Japanese husbands beleive wives - especially once having children - are nearly untouchable and seek sex outside marriage; Thai men are expected - based upon their wealth - to have a 'mia noi' (small wife) or two; China recently began talking about 'sexless marriages' where couples are more concerned support factors, family approval, and companionship rather than sexual compatibility... Seems to me that sex worker should probably be championed in Asia rather than blamed... But of course we all know this is simply for show for the 'moralists' (who on the weekends, visit the same brothels..).

Well, that's my rant for the day....
