Has anyone had a mobile phone unlocked in Thailand?

I have a Motorola V300 triband, GSM 900/1800/1900 MHz. It is currently locked, so I can't just pop in a new SIM card in Thailand until it is unlocked.

There are websites that will sell me the unlocking tool and code for $20 US.
I was wondering if I can get the phone unlocked in Thailand for less.

Anyone have any experience with this? Store and location perhaps?

Just about anyhwere in BK or Pattaya !! My Nokia is Uk locked but I just bought a Thai chip and it worked??

I had my Virgin phone unlocked at MBK in BKK for 100 Baht then bought a 1-2-call sim package

Goto MBK they have signs that say “Unlock 400 thb” or something like that

ohh sorry forgot to add my nugget of info.
I took my nokia from the states and i had it unlocked only to find my phone wasn’t compatible and had to buy a cheep 2000 thb one.

For anybody in the UK, if you are on O2 don't bother, O2 phones aren't locked.
