The last remaining AMP that I remember was called "Rainbow" located in South Milwaukee. It closed well over a year ago, then reopened in 2002 under new management. I stopped back in, but they had an asian guy giving massage and that immediately turned me off to staying for a visit.

    Busts in Cudahy, (near Milwaukee)

Information current as of July 2, 2004
From Milwaukee Journal Sentinal, online (JS online dot com)
[Cudahy is on the outskirts of Milwaukee, right on the shore of the lake]
    12 arrested in prostitution sting
South side apartment building targeted after residents complained, by Linda Spice [She has a porn star name, but she's REALLY a reporter. Why does her editor give her all the sex stories? Why, why?] [Chewing her pen thoughtfully with full, red, pouty lips]
Cudahy police targeted prostitution in the city after receiving complaints of sex acts in the hallway of a south side apartment building, where they arrested 11 women and one man during an undercover sting operation.
Police conducted the operaiton on June 25 and Thursday, resulting in six arrests each day. Officers issued municipal citations related to alleged prostitution and unlicenses escort service violations. Four of the women arrested already had outstanding arrest warrants with other law enforcement agencies, police said.
The individuals arrested ranged in age from 19 to 40 and all were believed to be from Milwaukee. Tickets issued carry a possible forfeiture of $226, [or two good tricks] which an individual can pay or contest in municipal court, police said. [Not adding the option of ignoring them, which most people do]
They declined to release the building's address.

    Busts near Milwaukee, cont.

    Article, cont.
Detectives decided to conduct a sting operation in the building after a Cudahy man in a different location said he was robbed of $700 by two escorts he called to the city's north side in June.
"The bottom line is to address the problem," police Detective Dala Milosavljevic said. "It is a concern. As a resident of any apartment building, to come out and see that kind of behavior is alarming." [ "Sure," he added, "we could have tried to find the women who robbed this guy, but could we use taxpayer money to get blowjobs if that's all we did? Probably not." ]
Officers set up their operation inside the building, where they temporarily rented a unit and called escorts into the city. [ "We called it Party Central, woo hoo," said Dala. ] It is not known for sure whether the women arrested were the same ones residents said they saw. Detectives conducted the operation to get the word out, "This kind of behavior is not accepted...[blah blah blow me blah]"
And detectives believe the word did get out.
Two recent phone calls to escort services ended with an acknowlegement by a woman on the other end that Cuhahy was conducting a sting and that they refused to come into the city, Milosavljevic said.
"We tried to saturate the market, and, hopefully...this will spread by word of mouth and detour these people from coming back to Cudahy to engage in that kind of behavior," Milosavljevic said. "If you're a prostitute or an escort, don't come to Cudahy." [ "If, on the other hand," he added. "you are an economist, or just well read, please come and teach me the correct use of 'saturate the market.' I think there's something I'm missing. Thanks."]

    Stings in Milwaukee

Information current as of July 7, 2004.
I have an unconfirmed report of a massive bust in Milwaukee two hours ago which arrested 150 (one hundred fifty) johns and street walkers. No details, yet. I can see a portion of the article on the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel On-Line, and it is coming up on Google, but hell if I'm going to give the newspaper all my contact info just to read the rest of the article. I can wait. All the same, thought somebody might like to know. WATCH THE HELL OUT IN MILWAUKEE.

    Milwaukee crackdown

    OK, here's the Milwaukee info
From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal Online
Current as of July 6, 2004
Prostitution sting brings 150 arrests--2 week clampdown won't be the last, Milwaukee police say
    By John Diedrich
Milwaukee police have arrested more than 150 suspected prostitutes and clients over two weeks as part of a major push to combat prostitution.
The arrests, conducted by the Vice Control Division, are the first widespread sweeps in years, Sgt. Ken Henning said Tuesday, In a two week period under previous Chief Arthur Jones, the division would make five prostitution arrests. But Chief Nannette Hagerty, [sounds ugly] who worked in the vice division early in her career and posed as a prostitute to snag suspects, changed that.
"The current administration has greater emphasis on street prostitution now than in the past year," Henning said. "This isn't going to be a one time thing.
Records show that arrests were made at a number of locations on the north and south sides.
The arrests are part of a larger effort to curb prostitution, and a spokesman who represents the south said it would involve more than just arrests, but he declined to comment further because the Department plans an announcement later this month.
[ Ooooh, ooooh, I bet its a bright and shiny new website! OH, GOD, I'M SO EXCITED I CAN HARDLY WAIT! Weekly street information for Milwaukee? Could it be? Shove me under the mistletoe, it must be Xmas!!! ]
Citizens have complained repeatedly about problems connected with prostitution, such as discarded condoms and needles and increased drug activity, Henning said. Recently, the department fielded complaints from residents whose teen daughters have been mistaken for prostitutes approached by men seeking sex.
"A community suffers when prostitutes are around a neighborhood," Henning said.
[ And also when the city doesn't have decent litter control and needs somebody to blame]
The department is letting community groups know that the names of suspected clients are available through its Open Records Division at 49th St. and N. Lisbon Avenue. He said police want potential customers to be warned.
"If you...[blah blah blah]," Henning said.
Lorraine Blanco, [sounds ugly], founder of the Clarke Square Community Association, [The Square Asses] on the south side who has battled prostitution for years, [but just can't keep herself off the street], welcomes the arrests.
To those who say it is a victimless crime, she asks if their child would pick up a used condom thinking it is a balloon or cut their foot on a discarded drug needle.
"That's the reality of it. They [men?] are pigs. I hate to say it, but they are," Blanco said. "I chase them off my street, and they better run."
    [No wonder they drop things]
The Reverend Harold Moore, of Mercy Memorial Baptist Church, ["We're more than a contradiction in terms,"] said it would be hard to stop prostitution.
"It diminishes the neighborhood and quality of life," he said. "What bothers me is when they do it out in the open in front of children."
Moore said he has asked prostitutes to stay away from children.
"I know they will do what they are going to do," he said. "But we won't condone it."

    Ongoing Milwaukee situation

Information current as of August 5, 2004
From The Milwaukee Channel dot com
Milwaukee police crack down on prostitution
    306 arrests made since June
Milwaukee--Milwaukee police are conducting a crackdown on prostitution in the city, and they say more arrests are on the way. City leaders Wednesday unveiled an eight-point plan that included more prostitution stings, an increase in fines and penalties, outreach to prostitutes and broadcasting the identities of the customers on television.
"Be warned...[blah blah blah]," Milwaukee police Capt. Vince Flores said.
Since June, 306 people have been arrested in this prostitution crackdown--193 prostitutes and 113 of their customers. Of the 113 customers, 81 are from Milwaukee and 32 are from out of town--mostly nearby suburbs.

Milwaukee cop burned over a freebie

Info current as of July 29, 2004, from JSOnline
A nice way to round out the sting stories above. A Milwaukee police officer who works the late shift from Midnight to 8 stopped a prostitute, found she had an arrest warrant, and made the girl give him free sex while he was in uniform, in his squad car. A local resident witnessed the incident and reported it to police. Computer records revealed the computer check of the prostitute's record with no subsequent arrest. The matter was referred to the district attorney.
The article also mentions there were 300 arrests in the city during those major operations. Of course, it seems like with every major operations the police must be prepared for at least one good scandal, hmmm?
The article didn't have the officer's name, which is why I'm not printing it here. That's the *only* reason.
