Hey Cuba Guy; whats the rent for this style of apt in $USD? I stayed at the Hotel Carribe downtown, but would much prefer a penthouse? Will check out the site pending your reply! Later

I recommend getting an apartment. The El Caribe is a nice hotel, but I don't recommend it for mongering. The Hotel charges $55 dollars to bring the woman to your room, plus you have to make the walk of shame through a well lit lobby. Buena suerte amigos.

Hey Mo.
I am going in Feb and am in contact with Juan and Mery. It will be a buddy and me so we will need 2 bedrooms. Have u stayed at the penthouse ? Dont want to spend the 300 a nite. The pic of the suite looks good for 150, but was wondering if there are any discounts or if you could tell me what the location was like. Girls, Bars,Restaurants , quality of beach out front and Grocery store.

Shooter, Just got back from 4 months in Cartagena.Go for an apartment there, much better than hotel. The best and cheapest way to find one is not through and agent. They are tacking on middle man fees.
The way i do it is to go there (Lagito) and to walk along the main street(there is only one). There are apartments(edificios) all along the street.simply walk in and ask if there are apartments for rent. Many of these buildings have a rental office in the lobby. The longer you stay the better the rate.
A $150.00 a day is ridiculous in Columbia. We paid around $430.00 a month for 2 bedroom,2 bath on the beach.Wasn't a penthouse but very comfortable. As you are walking along there will be many touts offering apartment rentals.I would advise against using them as they always want a propina(tip) and it is never enough.I hope this helps! Have a good time,i'm sure you will.

Shooter,
Follow under100pesos advice. He has it nailed! There are a lot of apartments behind the El Caribe hotel and on San Martin street, which is the main drag for Bocagrande. There is a big lake behind the El Caribe hotel with a bunce of por venta signs on quite a few high rises. For my money go to the El Laguito barrio. Lots of apartments over there. Bargain....there are so many apartments to choose from the manager expects you to bargain because its a renters market. Buena suerte.

Hey Shooter Dude Are you from Saint Louis? I will also be at Cartagena and Barranquilla plus Santa Marta at that time. P.M. Me here or post back here. I heard also Cartagena is much better for SWS then Barranquilla. I am in my mid to late 30,s and from Chicago.. Lets Hook up for sure,,, A.M.Originally Posted by shooter1
