Funny enough, last night I'm in Soi Welkom speaking to a young Guy from Finland (a youngyoda clone) He's been here a week and completely trusts His Thai girl and of course is taking all His savings (2 million baht) and going to buy a house in Her name, after one week!

He tells me that Finland has the highest suicide rate in the World, not Pattaya.
What He neglected to add was the Fins commiting suicide are the ones who have just spent their life savings in Thailand and been well and truly fleeced. :D

I Think that all single guys under 30 should be banned from Thailand and even after that be made to take a written exam,oral tests of course would wait until arrival in LOS.

Reading all this along with my experience in Thailand has gotten me to thinking...
I cannot speak for those on the board from other parts of the world, but I CAN say that when a Male from the United States is looking for a permanent girlfriend he does NOT look among the hooker community. He KNOWS that these women are in it for the money. He KNOWS that these Women would NOT make good permanent female companions.
WHY is it that some 55 year old College educated highly intelligent male barfines some 23 year old hostess, takes her home, gives her money, and after about two weeks convinces himself that she LOVES him?
This same guy wouldnt pick up a hooker in New York City and do that. Is it that even at age 55 guys still think with the little head? Or is it that these Thai Women are better actresses?
This entire thing really has me thinking........

Pattaya grew up on the back of American GI's who stayed with Thai girlfriends
and im sure many went home with a new wife,exactly the same story in the Philippines.Not an expert but doubt NY hookers provide the same GFE that lures so many in the LOS,reckon there are as many or maybe more from the USA as anywhere else that have had their brains fried in SE Asia.

How many of us have given our entire life savings to a one week old girlfriend, even when we were young? Zero? I thought so.

On a side note, I'd like to meet this woman. She'll probably be in a generous partying mood after she tells him to hit the road. She's probably gorgeous too.

Because that 55 year old has been starved of companionship and love from emancipated Women in the US. He comes to Thailand and suddenly believes He has found Paradise on Earth.

Thai Girls are the best actresses in the World. Either that or we are the most foolish of people (meet half way on that one) they tell you what you want to hear, act and respond to you like no other person has.

Talking about tests before going to thailand. How about a learners permit somthing like having an experienced adult be with the learner for five days before they can go out on their own? Five days....just long enough for them to get sexually confused forget why they came and you wouldn't be able to get rid of them.. ok two days with the instructor. Better yet that would be another way to earn an income in LOS. "LOS Orientation" only baht 4000 for 3 hours of classroom training on how not to get fleeced in Thailand, and than the graduation.. a night on the town (students expense of course) with the instructor, to put all the information learned to practical use. Don't forget the refesher course available for those who fail or forget the lessons learned, (slight additional charge).
Get this started quick I need the refresher course... only 5 more weeks before my fourth trip this year....To long to wait. Damn. Oh. Don't for get to make the diploma. Need somthing to take home. Beer caps in the pockets set off the security stuff at the airport.five more weeks..........

Don’t send her back! I've changed my mind; there are few hundred ‘leks’ standing at the Beach road in Pattaya, and at 300-400 Baht a pop, they’re far cheaper than a regular girlfriend. So there isn’t a free dinner or beer for you anymore. Why buy a cow if you can rent one? :D
